QLogic HBA: Collect Configuration and Logs via SANsurfer
When the host connects to SAN storage or a tape library via a QLogic Fibre Channel HBA, you can use the QLogic SANsurfer FC HBA Manager to collect HBA configuration, driver/firmware versions, port and target device information, and event logs with a single click. This is used to troubleshoot link issues, identify devices, and resolve multipath problems.
Collection Steps
- Open SANsurfer FC HBA Manager on the host and connect to localhost.
Click the menu Host → Collect Config/Logs (shortcut
Ctrl+Shift+Z).
Localized legacy SANsurfer example: Host → Collect Config/Logs.
When collection finishes, the dialog shows the location of
collect.zip. Retrieve the file from that actual location and send it to technical support. The example places it in the Administrator profile directory.
Newer QLogic (Marvell) HBAs now use the QConvergeConsole management tool, which also provides a function to collect Host configuration and logs in the menu; the command-line version uses
qaucli.
