EMC Disk Library (EDL) Virtual Tape Library X-Ray Collection

Collect EMC Disk Library (EDL) X-Ray diagnostics through the EDL Management Console. For a dual-engine configuration (Engine A / Engine B), collect a separate package from each engine.

Collection Steps

  1. Open the EDL Management Console and connect to the engine. Right-click the engine (server) name in the left-hand tree view and select "X-Ray".

  2. In X-Ray Options, retain the default selections. Under Log File → Specific Records, select Date Range and include the period before and after the incident, for example from one week before the failure to the current date.

  3. Click … beside Save As to choose a local destination, then click Take X-Ray. Wait for the .tar.gz package to be created.

  4. Repeat the above steps for the other engine and send both X-Ray files to Technical Support.
