NetApp ONTAP Performance Archive Collection

Collect a performance archive covering the incident window, then retrieve it from each requested node through SPI.

1. Check AutoSupport transport

The source changes transport to HTTPS for performance archive collection. Record the original setting before changing it:

autosupport modify -node * -transport https

2. Collect the performance window

The following historical example retains the source’s date, four-hour duration, sample case number and chosen filename. Replace the date/time, case number and target nodes for the actual incident:

system node autosupport invoke-performance-archive -start-date 10/31/2021 09:00:00 -duration 4h -case-number 8899665533 -uri file:///mroot/etc/log/retransmit/perfachivefilename.7z -node *

3. Download through SPI

Open https://management-lif-ip/spi using the actual management LIF address, then choose each required node’s logs link:

SPI logs links for both nodes

Open /etc/log/retransmit/ and download the file specified by the collection command. The example command above creates perfachivefilename.7z; the historical screenshot below shows a separately named body.7z file. Match the filename and collection time instead of assuming that every collection is called perfarchive.7z.

Historical retransmit directory example, filename body.7z

4. Restore the original transport setting

If AutoSupport used SMTP before the change, restore it after collection and transfer are complete:

autosupport modify -node * -transport smtp
