Manually Collect ThinkSystem DM/DG Support Data
This procedure collects support archives from ThinkSystem DM/DG storage systems, including the DM5000H example. Follow the support team’s instructions for the nodes and AutoSupport records needed.
1. Choose a collection option
Option A: retrieve an existing AutoSupport
Identify its sequence number:
system node autosupport history show -fields subject,generated-on -node <NodeName>
Retransmit the requested record to a local archive. Substitute the node and sequence number:
system node autosupport history retransmit -node <NodeName> -seq-num <SequenceNumber> -uri file:///mroot/etc/log/retransmit/body.7z
Option B: generate current AutoSupport data
system node autosupport invoke -node * -type all -message "invoke.all" -uri file:///mroot/etc/log/retransmit/body.7z
2. Wait for collection
system node autosupport history show
3. Open SPI file access
Sign in to the SPI web interface. The original guide refers to Lenovo HT518159 for access instructions. Replace the management LIF and node name in the example path:
http://cluster-mgmt-LIF/spi/NODE_Name/etc/log/
4. Open each node’s retransmit directory
Choose the requested node’s logs link, then retransmit/:

5. Download and identify each archive
Download body.7z from each requested node:

Use a node-specific local name, retaining the .7z extension, so archives from different nodes can be distinguished. The source screenshot uses DM5000H_log; its prose says DM550H_log. Use the actual node name rather than either fixed example.

6. Upload to Lenovo support
Provide the archives through the Lenovo Upload Tool when requested by the support case.
7. Clean up temporary archives
After confirming that each requested archive has been downloaded and retained successfully, follow the support-directed cleanup procedure for the temporary body.7z on that node. The source advanced-privilege nodeshell commands are:
node run -node <NodeName> ls /etc/log/retransmit
node run -node <NodeName> rm /etc/log/retransmit/body.7zThese commands target the temporary retransmit file shown above. They do not delete every AutoSupport file in /mroot/etc/log/autosupport/. Keep the root volume from accumulating unnecessary collection archives and consult support for broader cleanup.
