NF5688M6: CMOS Clear Jumper Reference

This translates the stored NF5688M6 jumper procedure. Confirm the actual board revision and matching service manual before clearing CMOS. Move the jumper only while power is disconnected, and record settings that may need to be restored afterward.

Location and pin states

Source motherboard layout with CLR_CMOS at callout 21
English source table: J122 CLR_CMOS, pins 1-2 normal and pins 2-3 clear

English localization illustration of the source pin-state table: J122 (CLR_CMOS); pins 1–2 shorted for normal operation, pins 2–3 shorted to clear CMOS. Callout21 is the CLR_CMOS location in the numbered diagram.

Source sequence

  1. Shut down the server and unplug its power cables from the outlets.
  2. Wait five seconds.
  3. Locate CLR_CMOS on the motherboard.
  4. Move the jumper cap from pins1–2 (normal/default) to pins2–3.
  5. The source then reconnects power, starts the server and waits ten seconds for CMOS to clear.
  6. Shut down, disconnect power again and wait another five seconds.
  7. Return the jumper cap to pins1–2.
  8. Reconnect power and start the server.

The brief power-on interval in step5 is specifically part of this stored procedure; it is not a general instruction to operate any motherboard with a clear jumper installed. Confirm it against the correct service manual, keep clear of energized components and restore the normal jumper position before regular operation.
