NF5688M6 Components: Front and Rear Views, LEDs and Drawer Removal
This article follows the numbered drawings in the stored source. The official English NF5688M6 White Paper V1.0 uses different callout numbering in some drawings: its front-view items 1/2 and its power/fan LED item order differ. Use the table paired with the displayed figure; do not transfer numbers from another revision. The unannotated numbered diagrams themselves need no language replacement.

1.3 Front-panel buttons and LEDs
| Source item | Icon | Button or indicator | Meaning |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | ![]() | Power button and LED | Off: no power; solid green: powered on; solid orange: standby. From power-on, hold 4 seconds to force shutdown; follow the OS shutdown procedure for a normal shutdown. In standby, a short press powers on. |
| 2 | ![]() | System fault LED | Off: normal; flashing red at 1Hz: general/non-critical warning; solid red: severe/critical warning. |
| 3 | ![]() | Memory fault LED | Off: normal; flashing red at 1Hz: general/non-critical warning; solid red: severe/critical warning. |
| 4 | ![]() | Fan fault LED | Off: normal; flashing red at 1Hz: general/non-critical warning; solid red: severe/critical warning. |
| 5 | ![]() | Power fault LED | Off: normal; flashing red at 1Hz: general/non-critical warning; solid red: severe/critical warning. |
| 6 | ![]() | System overtemperature LED | Off: normal cooling status; flashing red at 1Hz: general/non-critical thermal warning; solid red: severe/critical warning. |
| 7 | ![]() | Network status LED | The source says no onboard LAN is provided for this indication, so the function does not illuminate. This does not mean the separate BMC management port or installed OCP NIC is absent. |
| 8 | ![]() | UID/RST button and LED | Off: not located; solid blue: located; flashing blue: remote operation. The UID button or ISBMC can turn the identification LED on/off. Holding the button for more than 6 seconds resets the BMC. |
A forced shutdown and BMC reset are distinct disruptive actions, not the normal short-press UID locate operation. Interpret LEDs together with the actual management/log information.
Drive-carrier indicators

| Callout | Indicator | Source states |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Drive activity | Solid green: normal; flashing green: read/write activity. |
| 2 | Drive fault/status | Solid red: drive fault; solid blue: drive location; solid pink: RAID drive rebuild. |
2. Chassis
2.1 Removing the modules
Use the applicable service preparation, power-isolation and handling procedure; these drawers are not identified here as hot-swappable. Support each drawer’s weight and protect the internal connectors. The source’s illustrated removal actions are:
1. Loosen the retaining screws for the motherboard, switch or GPU-module drawer, as shown by callout 1:

2. Open both motherboard drawer handles in direction 2. Hold the handles and pull the motherboard drawer out in direction 3:

3. Open the switch drawer handles in direction 4. Hold them and withdraw the switch drawer in direction 5:

4. Open the GPU-module drawer handles in direction 6 and pull in direction 7. When the side release buttons become exposed, press and hold both buttons as shown by callout 8 and continue withdrawing the drawer:

2.2 Motherboard-module top cover
The stored source ends at this heading without a cover-removal procedure or additional diagram. Do not infer screw positions or a release sequence from the drawer figures; use the correct service-manual revision for that operation.
