NF5280M4 Red Drive LEDs After Moving From a RAID Card to Onboard SATA

Observed symptom

On the source NF5280M4, the front drive indicators remained red after hardware reconfiguration, while the Ctrl+I configuration interface showed the physical drives and RAID volume as Normal:

This screenshot is evidence of that configuration state only. It does not make every red drive LED a harmless cable issue.

Cause identified in the source case

The machine originally used a 3008 IMR RAID card and cable SAS_A_2T_RHS36-1178_60cm_36P_HDMIN, part V17931600000200Y. After removing the RAID card, the original SAS cable was connected directly to the motherboard MiniSAS port. The source attributes the LED behavior to that mismatched cabling.

Cable and connection specified by the source

For its onboard connection, the source calls for one cable, part V016048000000000, model LXSH_2T_LE3HM032-SD-R_600mm_BRA. Its straight connector goes to the backplane MiniSAS connector; its angled connector goes to motherboard MiniSASHD_0. Verify the exact machine/backplane configuration and applicable service instructions before changing hardware.

The source reports that the front drive-LED display returned to normal with this cable. It does not provide an independent drive-health test or a universal diagnosis for every NF5280M4 LED alarm.
