Install Windows Server 2003 with Inspur Ruijie: Onboard SATA RAID Workflow

This archived source describes Windows Server 2003 installation using the Inspur Ruijie Server Kit. Use the kit/media and controller drivers supported for the actual server and OS. The English figures recreate the source screens; they do not document a new installation performed here. Protect required data before booting an installation or partitioning workflow.

1. Boot the kit and select the correct model path

Insert the Ruijie Server Kit disc and configure the intended optical boot path in BIOS. Select the entry matching the purchased server/controller configuration. The source highlights NP3020M2/NP3060 (4310 RAID configuration), entry 5. The menu separately lists NP3060 with Intel SATA HostRAID as entry 4; do not treat entry 5 as the correct choice for every onboard SATA system:

If prompted to press a key to boot from the CD, do so for this first kit boot. The OS menu offers 1 for Windows Server 2003, 2 for Windows Server 2008 and 3 to exit and shut down:

For this Windows Server 2003 walkthrough, enter 1 and press Enter.

2. Choose the intended partitioning path

The next menu offers 1: Repartition and install the system, 2: Install on existing partitions, or 3: Exit and shut down. Repartition removes all existing target-disk data. Installing on existing partitions still clears the current C: data. Protect required data and verify the intended target before proceeding:

The source follows option 1 for repartitioning, completes system initialization and asks for the primary C: partition size. It does not supply a partition-size screenshot or a particular MB value in this article; choose a size supported by the actual disk and installation requirements.

Entering the confirmed size proceeds with partitioning/formatting and preparation of temporary installation files. Follow the restart prompt when preparation completes. Keep the Ruijie disc inserted during this restart because the kit still performs additional setup.

3. Restart from the hard disk and swap media

At the Ruijie boot menu after restart, choose Boot from hard disk (entry 6), or allow its intended hard-disk boot. This is different from repeating the initial model-selection/partitioning step:

The source says the kit disc is ejected and the tool asks for Windows installation media. The preserved example prompt names Windows Server 2003:

Insert the matching Windows Server 2003 installation disc and press a key when prompted to start the automatic Windows installation process.

4. Windows Setup and completion checks

When the kit’s unattended setup does not include a valid product key, the source says Windows Setup reports that no valid CD key is present. Acknowledge the message and enter the appropriate valid key for the licensed media when requested, then Next. The source picture contains five empty fields; no real key is supplied:

The displayed 60–90 minute estimate is part of the old setup screen, not a promised installation duration. The picture set ends at product-key entry; verify the actual completed installation and required drivers afterward.

They describe different M3 server models and are not exact English versions of these older GUI screens or proof of compatibility for the illustrated model.
