Install Oracle Database Client 11g on Windows

This archived example shows the Oracle Database Client 11g installer on Windows, with an Oracle home under 11.2.0. The figures are English recreations of the source screens. Their step counters differ (1/6, 3/7, 4/8 and 6/8); follow the screens for the installation media you actually use.

1. Choose the installation type

Run the Oracle Client installer and select Administrator, then click Next. Here Administrator is an installation type, rather than a request to rename or create a Windows account. The source shows a 1.1 GB installation size; other options shown are Instant Client, Runtime and Custom.

2. Select product languages

Move the required product languages into Selected Languages and click Next. The source selects both Simplified Chinese and English. Both remain selected in the English illustration; translating the documentation does not change which product languages are installed.

3. Specify the installation location

Choose the Oracle base directory and software location (Oracle home). The example uses C:\app\Administrator as Oracle Base and C:\app\Administrator\product\11.2.0\client_3 as Software Location. These are example paths, not mandatory locations for every installation. Click Next after reviewing your chosen locations.

4. Review the summary and start installation

Confirm the installation type, directories and disk space in Summary. The source reports 1.1 GB required and 30.79 GB available. Click Install when the settings are correct. This is the last source screenshot; it shows the command to start installation, without a completed-installation or database-connection test result.

The long source-media path is abbreviated; the Oracle base and Oracle home paths are retained.

Oracle’s English installation guide documents the full 11g Release 2 procedure, including requirements and screens omitted from this short source example. Use the guide matching your installation media for those additional steps.
