Description

This article describes how to change the HDD status from JBOD to unconfigured good using the XClarity Controller (XCC).

Solution

Note: Make sure that you are updating the status of the intended drive. An incorrect operation may compromise your data.

1. Access your XCC via the GUI interface (see Logging into the XClarity Controller).
    
2. To enable access to update the drive status, select Server Configuration from the left-hand menu, RAID Setup, Storage Inventory, and then Enable edit mode.
   

   

   
    
3. Once in Edit mode, click on the drop-down menu for the drive you want to change the status for in the Actions column.
   

   

   
    
4. From within that menu, select Make drive unconfigured good.
   

   

   
    
5. Once selected, you should see a message stating that the action was completed successfully.
