Alert Information

you cannot perform that operation because the contronller has preserved cache.you must either discard the preserved cache by going to the manage preserved cache operation or import the virtual drives that have preserved cache

Processing Steps

1. Download the toolkit tool and boot into the toolkit command line.

linux: ~ #./storcli64 -help | grep -i preserved
storcli /cx show preservedcache
storcli /cx/vx delete preservedcache[force]

1../storcli64 /c0 show preservedcache

You can see which VD has preserved cache.

2. Based on the VD number found via the command above, e.g., VD: 0, execute:

./storcli64 /c0/v0 delete preservedcache force

After clearing, go to the RAID card's web BIOS and restore the boot error handling settings to their original configuration.

Root Cause

The customer's RAID card was previously used on another machine with residual VD information. The RAID information was not cleared before reconfiguration.

Solution

Use the toolkit tool in command-line mode to clear the residual VD.
