430 / 930 Series RAID Controllers Require the Newer StorCLI Version
ESXi 6 Installation and Usage Guide for StorCLI
I. To query RAID controller information and perform other RAID operations on an ESXi system, you must install and use StorCLI under the ESXi environment. StorCLI is specifically designed to manage Lenovo RAID controllers within the system and supports only command-line operations and management.
Basic Environment: 3650 M5 Server, MT: 5462
VMware ESXi U2
vmware-storcli-007.0209.0000.0000.vib Version downloaded from the official Lenovo website: http://driverdl.lenovo.com.cn/lenovo/mig/2017/09/26/17652/lsi-lnvgy_utl_sraidmr_storcli-7.0209.0000.0000_vmwesx_x86-64.tgz
II. Installation Process
1. Upload the file to the corresponding ESXi host; it is recommended to upload to /tmp using SFTP.
This operation defaults to storing files in the /tmp directory.
2. Log in to the ESXi host via SSH and install the StorCLI VIB file.
esxcli software vib install -v /tmp/vmware-storcli-007.0209.0000.0000.vib --no-sig-check
3. Verify that the VIB file installation is complete.
esxcli software vib list grep | storcliYou will see the StorCLI help documentation.
III. Using StorCLI to Retrieve RAID Controller Information
1. Log in to the ESXi host via SSH.
2. Change directory to /opt/lsi/sotcli.
3. Run the following command to retrieve the current server's RAID controller information.
./storcli storcli show all
Your server configuration has two RAID controllers, typically c0 and c1; you can compare this with the output results.
4. Retrieve all information for the c0 RAID controller.
./storcli /c0 show all
It is recommended to use terminal text saving functionality to save the output as a text file.
5. Retrieve all information for the c1 RAID controller.
./storcli /c1 show all
