Brocade DCX 8510, 6505 and 6510: EOS Dates and Source Notice

Vendor EOS dates

ProductEnd of support
Brocade 8510 / DCX 8510April 30, 2025
Brocade 6505April 30, 2025
Brocade 6510June 17, 2025

These dates come from Broadcom’s Gen 5 EOS alert. The stored note incorrectly gives the 6505 the same June 17 date as the 6510; the table corrects that discrepancy.

Unverified statement in the stored notice

The original notice claims that DCX 8510 switches running FOS 8.2.2c or later stop allowing certain commands when EOS is reached. A matching official statement establishing this behavior was not found during this review. EOS dates alone do not prove that CLI commands are disabled. Treat the following as the original notice’s unverified list, not a verified description of switch behavior:

bladeportmap
setdbg
fosredirout
portlogdump
fabriclog
portcamshow

supportsave
tracedump
errshow

errdump
rtedebug

auditdump

The original notice advises careful firmware-version planning before EOS. Confirm supported firmware, certificates/licensing, service coverage and platform-migration options with the equipment vendor. Do not downgrade firmware or change the clock merely on the basis of this unverified list. SANnav monitoring restrictions, if applicable to a particular release, are separate from availability of commands on the switch itself.
