NetApp FAS Hard Drive Replacement Steps (7-Mode)
Health Check
1. Execute on both nodes separately
sysconfig -v to check for FAILED components
vol status -f to check for failed disks
cf status to check controller status
df to check logical volume disk usage
environment status to check power supply and fan status
rdfile /etc/messages to check latest logs
I. Hard Drive Replacement Maintenance Steps
1. sysconfig -v to view FAILED disks
2. vol status -r to check if the hot spare has been used, check if there are FAILED disks in the aggregate; if not, and there are disks in Broken Disks, it indicates the hot spare has taken over.
3. Remove the hard drive, wait 30 seconds, insert the new hard drive (confirm the yellow light is on and the green light is not flashing)
4.disk show -v Check whether the new disk has been assigned an owner (controller)5. disk assign 0b.**.** to assign the hard drive to the owner (controller)
6.disk show -v Check whether the assigned owner is correct; it should be the original controller (if the disk is assigned to an unknown owner, perform Step III)7. vol status -r to check disk status (if the disk shows Bad Label, execute Step II; if the disk has entered Spare Disks and is marked as not zerod at the end, execute Step 8)
8. disk zero spares to initialize all spare disks
II. Handling Newly Replaced Disks with Bad Label Status
1. priv set advanced to enter advanced mode
2. disk unfail -s 0b.**.** to remove the Bad label
3. priv set to exit advanced mode
III. Handling Disks Assigned to Unknown Owner (Controller)
1. disk show -v View the owner (controller) of the new disk2. disk assign -f <disk_id> -s unowned to force assignment
3. disk assign **.**.** to assign the disk to the current operating owner (controller)
*. disk assign -f **.**.** -s 348921*** to force-assign the disk to an owner (controller)
aggr destroy aggr0(1)
