NetApp Predictive Failure (NHT) Disk Replacement Reference
The three faulty disks
Disk 3d.01.7 received NHT health trigger (0x1 0xb 0x5d 0x10)
Disk 3d.01.1 received NHT health trigger (0x1 0xb 0x5d 0x5)
Disk 3a.01.16 received NHT health trigger (0x1 0xb 0x5d 0x10)
1. Run rdfile /etc/messages to view the disk that triggered the NHT error,
2. Run sysconfig -r to check which pool the faulty disk belongs to and whether that pool has a spare disk.
3. If there is no spare disk, first physically add a hard drive.
4. Use the command disk assign <disk name> to assign the disk to the controller.
5. Run disk zero spares to initialize all spare disks and wait for initialization to reach 100% (this step is only required if the hot spare status is not zero).
6. If a hot spare is available, use the command disk maint start -d <disk name>. This will copy data from this disk to the hot spare, after which the system will perform a health test on this disk. If the test passes, the disk will be set as a hot spare; if the test fails, it will be marked as failed and requires replacement.
7. Run sysconfig -r to check if the disk has changed to failed state.
8. storage show disk -p Find the physical location of the failed disk9. Physically replace the faulty hard drive.
10. Use disk assign to assign the new hard drive to the controller node.
11. Run disk zero spares to initialize all spare disks and wait for initialization to reach 100% (this step is only required if the hot spare status is not zero).
12. Follow the steps to process the next disk.
