2.2 Brief Introduction to Chassis and Main Component Disassembly and Assembly
I. Precautions Before Disassembly and Assembly
Please read and comply with all precautions in this section. If supplementary instructions provided with the server differ from these instructions,
contact the supplier's technical service personnel to determine how to ensure correct operation.
Note: The power switch does not completely cut off AC power. To cut off AC power, you must unplug all power cords connected to the server from the AC outlet.
the plugs of all power cords connected to the server.
Since server components are extremely sensitive to electrostatic discharge (ESD), perform the operations in the following sections on an ESD workbench.
operation. If there is no such workbench, use the following methods to reduce ESD damage:
1. Wear an anti-static wrist strap and connect it to the metal part of the server.
2. Before touching server components, first touch the metal casing on the server chassis.
3. When inserting or removing components, keep part of your body in contact with the metal chassis of the server to discharge static electricity.
4. Avoid unnecessary movement.
7. Avoid sliding components on the operation platform.
8. To ensure good heat dissipation and ventilation for the system, the chassis cover must be installed before normal use of the server.
Foam pad (packaging material, not a component).
7. Avoid sliding components on the operation platform.
8. To ensure proper system heat dissipation and ventilation, the chassis cover must be installed before normal server operation.
Required Tools
1. Phillips screwdriver, etc.
2. Anti-static wrist strap and conductive foam pad (recommended).
3. Pen or pencil to record changes in server system configuration and record specific information for all installed components.

II. Chassis Assembly and Disassembly
Before performing operations, ensure you fully understand the content in "Pre-Disassembly/Assembly Precautions" of this section.
Note: Before installing the chassis cover, check that no tools or parts are left inside the system.

Unscrew the two screws at the front of the chassis, then push the top cover backward as shown in the figure.

Figure: 2-9 Hard Drive Assembly and Disassembly - 1
Note: Press the button as shown in Figure A, and pull the hard drive bracket outward with parallel force.

Figure: 2-10 Hard Drive Assembly and Disassembly - 2
Note: Unscrew the four screws securing the hard drive bracket to remove the bracket.

Figure: 2-11 Hard Drive Assembly and Disassembly - 3
Note: Align the hard drive with the four mounting holes on the bracket, then install the hard drive using the four bracket screws.

Figure: 2-12 Hard Drive Assembly and Disassembly - 4
Note: Push the bracket with the installed hard drive into the hard drive bay following the steps shown in the figure to complete installation.
IV. 5-Inch Device Assembly and Disassembly
Before performing operations, ensure you fully understand the content in "Pre-Disassembly/Assembly Precautions" of this section.

Note: As shown in the figure, press the springs on both sides of the 5-inch bay and pull it backward to remove it. For installation, also press the springs on both sides of the 5-inch bay and insert it.
springs, insert it.
V. Add-in Card Installation and Removal
Before performing operations, ensure you fully understand the content in "Pre-Disassembly/Assembly Precautions" of this section.
Note: Expansion cards are extremely sensitive to electrostatic discharge; always exercise caution. After removing a card, place it in anti-static protective packaging, or place it component-side up on a grounded static-free workbench or on a conductive foam pad.
Do not slide the card across the workbench.
Ensure that all empty expansion slots have a blanking plate installed. An open expansion slot without a blanking plate will compromise the server's EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) integrity and reduce system cooling efficiency, which may affect system performance due to overheating.
or cause component damage.

Note: 1. First, move the button marked A in the diagram in the direction of the arrow as shown;
2. Remove the I/O metal shield plate;
3. Insert the external card.
Note: The following precautions apply to hot-swappable PCI cards:

Figure 2-16 Removal and Installation of External Cards - 2
1. Observe the status of the hot-swap indicator light as shown. Status descriptions are as follows:
Status Description Corresponding Operation Precautions
Off The PCI Slot is powered off. External cards can be inserted or removed.
Steady On The PCI Slot is in operation. Do not insert or remove external cards.
Blinking The PCI Slot is in transition state. Do not insert or remove external cards.
2. During hot-swapping, avoid shaking the external card extensively from side to side to prevent short circuits.
VI. Memory Removal and Installation
Before performing operations, ensure you fully understand the content in 'Precautions Before Disassembly' of this section.
