Lenovo ThinkSystem DE Series Storage Controller Management IP Configuration
The following applies to the management network for the ThinkSystem DE series. It retains the default address specification for System Manager 11.50.3 and uses official diagrams for the DE4000H / DE6000H to illustrate initial connection procedures. Verify installation instructions specific to different models and versions before proceeding.
Initial connection to the management port
Controllers attempt DHCP by default. Documentation for version 11.50.3 states that if acquisition fails, it may take approximately 3 minutes before using the default address. The address used for daily management is P1; P2 reserved for technical support.
| Controller management port | Default IPv4 address after DHCP failure |
|---|---|
| Controller A / 1, P1 | 192.168.128.101 |
| Controller B / 2, P1 | 192.168.128.102 |
For initial direct connection using the above default address, set the maintenance computer to 192.168.128.100/24, connect to P1 on Controller A, and open System Manager. If the device already has a configuration, use the existing management address.

Configure Static Management Address
- Prepare the target IP, subnet mask, and gateway for both controllers.
- Navigate to Hardware → Show back of shelf, select the controller, then select Configure management ports.
- Follow the initial connection flow shown in the diagram: first configure P1 on Controller B, then P1 on Controller A; choose static configuration and enter network parameters.
- After the address changes, the current management session may disconnect. Reconnect using the new address and verify connectivity for both controllers separately.
The image above retains official English descriptions. The P1 / P2 markings and addresses are examples specific to the model and version in this document. Do not treat P2 as a second daily management port, and do not alter its default configuration intended for supported functions.
