Dell PowerEdge: Configure iDRAC IP from the Front LCD Panel

On a Dell PowerEdge fitted with the optional LCD bezel, use the front buttons to view or configure the iDRAC address. The steps below follow the R620 owner's manual; check the manual for other models. Systems without an LCD use their model's System Setup / iDRAC network settings.

The check button enters or confirms a selection. The left and right buttons move the selection or adjust a value, depending on the menu.

Set a static address

  1. Connect the configured iDRAC NIC to the management network and obtain the assigned IP, mask and gateway.
  2. Press check, then open Setup → iDRAC → Static IP.
  3. Select a digit with the right button, press check, adjust it with the arrows, then confirm.
  4. After editing the address, select » and confirm. Set Sub and Gtw in turn.

Verify

Read back the address under View → iDRAC IP → IPv4 → IP. Open https://<iDRAC_IP>, verify the device and certificate, then sign in with the configured credentials.

Continue with the PowerEdge TSR / SupportAssist collection guide.
